Its Ministry of Foreign Affairs Latvia announced yesterday Wednesday (23/3) that it put 25 personalities in the fields of culture and entertainment Russia on the “black list” because of their support for Russian invasion of Ukraine.
These people will not be allowed to enter the Baltic country, an EU member state, “indefinitely”, it is stressed.
The list includes figures who appeared at Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium on March 18 to support a speech by Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as other cultural figures who have spoken out in favor of the Russian military.
“Support for the atrocities committed by the Kremlin regime is complicity,” the Latvian foreign minister said, justifying the measure.
Among them are director Nikita Mikhalkov and Russian rock musician Nikolai Rastargov, best known for his patriotic songs.
