Ukraine and Russia continue peace talks via teleconference today, the Ukrainian president’s office said Volodymyr Zelenskyciting Ukrainian negotiator Mikhail Pontolyak.
Delegations from the two countries met in Istanbul on Tuesday, with Pontoliak saying he was “optimistic” after the talks.
Earlier in the day, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said some progress has been made in Istanbul He added that Moscow was preparing its responses to the Ukrainian proposals.
Lavrov stressed that talks with Ukraine should continue and stressed that Kyiv seemed to show “much more understanding” regarding Crimea and Donbass, but also the need to maintain a neutral regime, as reported by Reuters and rebroadcast by the Athenian News Agency.
