An explosion was heard west of its center Kiev a few minutes after the sirens sounded, a Reuters correspondent reports.
Two more explosions were heard about 20 minutes later, around 8:40 a.m.

Meanwhile, The Russian military announced today that it has surrounded two major cities in southern UkraineKherson and Berdyansk, on the fourth day of his invasion of the country.
“In the last 24 hours, the Russian armed forces have completely blocked the cities of Kherson and Berdyask,” which have a population of 290,000 and 110,000, respectively, the Russian Defense Ministry said, citing TASS.
For their part, the authorities in Kharkov (northeast), the second largest city in Ukraine, announced today an “infiltration” of the army to the city center, according to the Athens News Agency.
“There was a penetration of light vehicles of the Russian enemy in the city of Kharkiv, including the central part,” said on Twitter a local official, Oleg Shinegubov, who said that the fighting was continuing and called on the approximately 1.4 million residents not to leave their homes.
