War in Ukraine: “NATO must consider a” de facto “accession” of the country

The NATO should consider granting to Ukraine a “de facto” rather than a “de jure” membership in the alliancewhen he will discuss his strategy for the next 10 years at the June summit, said today defense Minister of Ukraine, Oleksy Reznikov.

“I think talking about de facto rather than de jure Ukraine’s NATO membership may be a good idea in this strategy,” Reznikov told the GLOBSEC 2022 Bratislava Forum via video link.

“Ukraine will also be part of the strategy because we are also part of the eastern wing of Europe, the eastern wing of NATO countries, the eastern wing of the EU. “I believe this will be a win-win situation for all countries.”

The KremlinReznikov also addressed the Forum in Bratislava, tries to lead the war to a “prolonged phase” creating a multi-layered defense in the occupied territories in southern Ukraine.
