In a photo released by the Regional Governor, the extent of the disaster in the bombed area, where ruins have been scattered at a long distance, is captured. The city of Kupansk was occupied by the invaders a few weeks after the start of the Russian attack on Ukraine in February 2022, but was released five months later. In recent months, Russian forces have often launched attacks on the city, while continuing their advance in several areas of eastern Ukraine.
