War in Ukraine: Reports of 180 bodies found in Liman mass grave

A few days ago, 436 bodies were exhumed in the northeastern city of Izium after its recapture by the Ukrainian armed forces. In most cases, these were people who met a violent death, according to the authorities.

Mr Kirilenko, the governor of the Donetsk region, said in his post that the mass grave is believed to have contained “both soldiers and civilians” and that “their exact number has not yet been confirmed.”

He added how a site with approximately 200 graves was identified, containing the bodies of civilians. He did not say when or how they died.
