At least nine people have been killed in Russian airstrikes against the port city of Nikolaev, near Odessa, in the south. Ukrainewas announced today by the governor of the region, in a message to Telegram.
“Nine people killed in bombings…”wrote Vitaly Kim, without giving further details for the time being.
The city of Nikolaev, located about 130 kilometers east of Odessa, has been hit by heavy bombardment for days. Yesterday, inhabited residential areasincluding a cancer care center and an ophthalmology hospital, according to a French Agency reporter at the scene.
The city is deserted and almost all of its stores have closed.
Thousands of civilians have fled their city in recent days to Odessa.
