War in Ukraine: Rocket crashes in Odessa – A child among the victims

Russian Tupolev Tu-22 strategic bomber struck Odessa with rocket, with six victims, among them a child, announced today the command of the Ukrainian armed forces in the region. The Ukrainian military has not made it clear whether the term casualties refers to injuries or deaths.

The bomber struck shortly after noon in a residential area, destroying several residential buildings and agricultural facilities within a 500-square-meter radius, according to the local Ukrainian military administration.

Fires broke out

The fire brigade is trying to extinguish the fires caused by the missile strike, the APE-MPE reported, citing the DPA.

THE Ukraine recorded an increase in Russian missile strikes over the weekend, many of which took place in areas far from the fronts: in Lviv (west), Khmelnytsky, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv and Kyiv. Mykolaif and Odessa were hit in the south.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will address the G7 summit later today.
