The US is preparing provocations in Ukraine with the use of toxic chemicals, its Ministry of Defense announced of Russia. The ministry cited former US ambassador to Moscow John Sullivan as saying that “Russian troops are planning to use chemical weapons in the area of the special military operation”.
This term, “special military operation”, is used by the Kremlin when referring to war in Ukraine.
“We consider the information (a reflection) of the intention of the US and its accomplices to proceed with provocations in Ukraine with the use of toxic chemicals,” Igor Kirillov, head of Russia’s Radiological, Biological and Chemical Weapons (RBC) units, said, according to Reuters and the Athens News Agency.
He added that Moscow “will identify and punish the real culprits”.
