Temporary ceasefire in Mariupol from 10 am on Thursdayannounced tonight the Ministry of Defense of Russia, in order to evacuate civilians from besieged port city of Ukraine.
This measure will allow opening of a “humanitarian corridor” to the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhiaaccording to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
“In order for this humanitarian operation to succeed, we propose that it be carried out with the direct participation of representatives of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and the International Committee of the Red Cross,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
