The authorities of the Region Kherson extended the evacuation zone amid preparations by the Ukrainian armed forces to carry out a massive offensive. In more detail, appointed by Russia an official in Kherson province, southern Ukraine, announced yesterday Monday evening that the zone expands from which civilians should be removed further fromon the Dnieper River, explaining that the Kyiv may be preparing to attack the Kahovka Dam and to flood the area.

Deputy Governor of Kherson Region Vladimir Saldo said on October 18 that residents on the right bank of the Dnepr River will be moved to the left bank due to the threat of flooding, which may occur if the Ukrainian army strikes the Kakhovka hydroelectric station.
