Russian security forces opened fire on Saturday night against an armed criminal gang in the center of the occupied Ukrainian city of Kherson and “neutralized” it, the TASS news agency reported.
Kherson, in southern Ukraine, was seized by Russian troops shortly after their invasion began in February, and Kyiv has said it will retake it.
“A group of armed men, who were spotted, resisted. Russian security forces rushed to the scene and neutralized the criminals,” TASS reported, citing a img in the Russian security forces. There were no civilian casualties, the img added.
The collision took place on Usakov Avenue in the center of Kherson, TASS reported.
Russia’s RIA news agency had earlier reported, citing a img in the security forces, that the gang in question was a “sabotage and reconnaissance group”, but gave no further details.
