War in Ukraine – Russian gas: Poland speeds up work on LNG terminal

THE Poland wants to complete him liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in 2025, earlier than planned, said today the Polish Minister in charge of energy security Piotr Naimsky.

“We want the installation to be ready in 2025, we are accelerating that. The plan was to have it ready in 2027, “Naimsky told RMF FM after Russia announces it is suspending gas supplies to Poland.

The Polish gas company PGNiG recently announced “the complete suspension of gas supplies from Gazprom under the (Yamal pipeline) contract”.

At the same time, as reported by APE-MPE, the Minister of Climate of Poland announced today that its country intends to help Germany import non-Russian oil, as its western neighbor intends to find alternative sources of Russian supplies following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on 24 February.

“We are ready to express our solidarity with Germany (…) and support them in completing their withdrawal from Russian oil, from Russian resources,” Polish Foreign Minister Anna Moskva told Polish state radio station Polskie Radio.
