The mayor of the city Ενερχοντάρ stated late Thursday night (3/3) that Russian soldiers headed to its nearby nuclear power plant Zaporizhiathe largest not only in Ukraine but also in Europe.
Earlier, the Ukrainian authorities reported that Russian troops are stepping up their efforts to seize the nuclear power plant after invading the city of Enherkhodar with tanks.
“There are loud fires in the city,” the mayor wrote in an internet post. Dmitry Orloff.
Russian forces already control the abandoned Chernobyl plant, about 100 kilometers north of Kiev.
