War in Ukraine: Shocking Ukrainian Eurovision winner Jamala

THE JamalaUkraine winner of Eurovision in 2016was found among the refugees because of Russian invasion of Ukraine. He spoke exclusively to “Let’s go Danae” on Friday (4/3) for the difficult moments of uprooting from her country and described the moments she experienced, as together with her two children she managed to reach Turkey.

“What is happening in our home is not just a crisis, or a military operation, it is a violent, cruel, bloody and unjust war. No matter how many warnings we may have heard, we could never have believed that it would be so horrible that it could happen in the center of Europe in the 21st century. At 5 am on February 24, Russia launched a barbaric invasion of Ukraine. “After the first air raid and the explosion in Kyiv, I ran to the shelter with my children,” Jamala said.

“I faced one of the most difficult decisions of my life, to leave Kyiv. I was at the shelter three times that day and then decided to go to Chernobyl and then to the Romanian border. My husband is there now in Ukraine and he is protecting the country. “My husband created a volunteer group to help women and children,” the singer added.

“Now I am in Istanbul, here is my sister’s house, she lives here. All my relatives, my musicians are in Kyiv, they are terrified. Sometimes they are hungry, they have no water or electricity, they do not have access to the internet. “When I saw the video from various parts of Ukraine, such as Kharkov or Mariupol, they were bombed,” she said.

“My sons are brave because they helped their mother deal with all this. My children ask me, “When are we going back?” where is Daddy; “We miss him,” Jamala concluded.
