War in Ukraine: Sirens sounded in Kyiv for an air raid

A few minutes before 5:30 in the morning, sirens sounded in Kyiv for an air raid. They were heard throughout the night heavy fire and explosions on the outskirts of the Ukrainian capital.

According to a message from the head of the Kiev regional administration, Oleksi Kuleba, to the Telegram: “The Kiev region is on alert for an air raid. “Everyone should seek refuge immediately.”

Earlier, Satellite imagery shows Russian forces continuing to grow on the outskirts of Kiev. As a result, local authorities were expecting Russian attacks on targets in the Ukrainian capital. Ukraine’s General Staff, meanwhile, has warned that in northwestern Kiev, Russians are trying to regroup in order to launch new attacks.

Sirens warning of airstrikes were heard in other cities overnight. In Kharkov and Mykolayev for example. In Mykolayev, however, the fighting was intense with Ukrainian media reporting that Russian forces were trying to curb Ukrainian resistance and then move on to Odessa, where they were preparing for an attack.
