His Minister of Transport United Kingdom, Grand Sapsannounced that the entry of any Russian aircraft into the country’s airspace will be considered a criminal offense.
The official said in a post on his Twitter account that the British government will now be able to seize these aircraft. “We will stifle the possibility for Putin’s followers to continue to live normally, while thousands of innocent people are dying,” he wrote. Obviously that too the measure is added to what has been taken against the Russian oligarchs.
Earlier, Britain, following the US announcement, stressed that it would end imports of Russian oil and petroleum products by the end of 2022, in order to give enough time to the market and companies to find alternatives.
Russian oil imports cover 8% of demand. “The government will also work with the companies through a new ‘Oil Impact Force’ to support them at this time to find alternative providers,” said Energy and Entrepreneurship Minister Kwasi Quarteng.
