According to Ukrainian MP Dmitry Lubinets, the Russian occupation of eastern Ukraine is trying to “destroy entire cities.”

“It looks like the Russians are not fighting the Ukrainian armed forces, but the entire people,” he said.

That is why Ukraine calls on the international community to recognize the situation as genocide of the Ukrainian people, he added.

The Ukrainian government is making every effort to organize the evacuation of the civilian population from the areas where the fighting is taking place, Lubinets said.

He dismissed Moscow’s claim that Ukrainians were being transferred to Russia to be safe.

“Russian propaganda, as usual, distorts things,” he said. “The Russians are forcing people to flee to Russia – they are doing it by force.” He added that many children are among those being transported.
