War in Ukraine: Volodymyr Zelensky says “thousands” of civilians are missing

Russia will not be able to absolve itself of responsibility for the large number of Ukrainian civilians killed in the war, the Ukrainian president assured in the early hours of today. Volodymyr Zelensky.

“We already know that there are thousands of missing people”said in his evening sermon that was uploaded to the Telegram platform, adding that he believes that there are only two scenarios for their fate: either deported to Russia or killed.

According to the head of state of Ukraine, Moscow changed its tactics after the international outcry over the hundreds of bodies found in Boutsa, a suburb of Kiev that was recently recaptured by Ukrainian forces.

According to him, Russian troops are now taking care to remove the bodies of civilians killed on the streets and underground. However, Mr. Zelenski added, as broadcast by AMPE, that investigations will be carried out, satellite photos and eyewitnesses to determine the fate of the missing.

Mr Zelensky reiterates that Moscow is mobilizing forces to launch large-scale attack on Donbas and called on citizens living in Lugansk, Danieck and Kharkiv to leave.

“If Russia does not seriously seek to restore peace, Ukraine will continue to ‘fight,’ ‘it will not back down,'” he said.
