While the war in Ukraine has been going on for a month now, questions are starting to be raised about “Sudden disappearance” of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, but also the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces RussiaValery Gerasimov.
Shoigu is one of Vladimir Putin’s closest associateswho last appeared in public on March 11, when he presented awards to Russian soldiers who “distinguished themselves in the military operation.”
Russian journalist Dmitry Treschanin noted that Russia’s state-run RIA news agency had also not reported on Soigu since March 11 and expresses doubts over whether Shoigu was in Chernobyllocated outside Kherson, the first major city captured by Russian forces on March 2.
Good catch here by journalist Dmitry Treshchanin: Russian defense minister, Sergey Shoigu, has not been seen in public for 11 days. (The head of the National Guard, a real nutter named Viktor Zolotov, also seems to be curiously missing.) Https://t.co/sHaUm1BNSx

Official sources told Agentstvo Media that Soigu was having problems with his heart, while according to the official Kremlin website, defense Minister attended a rally with Russian President Vladimir Putin and other senior National Security Council officials on March 18 but footage of this meeting was never made public.
Shoigu is considered one of Putin’s closest and most loyal allies. However, there are reports that the Russian president is putting pressure on both himself and the army chiefs and security chiefs about the conduct of the war.
#Russia We need to help the Kremlin find its defense minister who disappeared. Sergei Shoigu last appeared in the news on March 11, when he talked to his Turkish counterpart. On March 18, he reportedly participated in a meeting and ceremony but did not appear on photos and videos pic.twitter.com/rPI2T2bnoo
