War in Ukraine: WHO cargo of medical supplies landed at Warsaw airport

According to her report ERTthe delivery of medical supplies includes supplies for wound care to meet the needs of 1,000 patients in need of surgical care and more medical supplies to meet the needs of a population of 150,000 people.

Health facilities and health workers in Ukraine are in dire need of supplies to continue to care victims of war as well as people suffering from other diseases. For this reason the WHO insists on the safe passage of supplies and other deliveries humanitarian aid and health.

The head of the Emergency Network of the WHO, Flavio Salio, referring to the delivery of supplies, said: “I am here in Poland, where 36 metric tons of medical supplies have just landed, bound for Ukraine. We have surgical supplies for the treatment of the wounded, as well as medicines for all the other diseases that do not stop for war. “The supplies will be transferred to trucks at the border with Ukraine and then further, to support the affected health system.”
