The possibility of opening a humanitarian corridor with the aim of evacuating civilians from Mariupol left the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Irina Verestsuk.
“There is a possibility that we will be able to open a humanitarian corridor from Mariupol”reported via Facebook, late on Good Friday night, at the time that 60 days had passed since the start of war in Ukraine.
Mrs. Verestschuk named a shopping mall in the northern part of the city, located on one of the escape routes, as the gathering point for civilians this morning.
He acknowledged that several attempts to open humanitarian corridors had failed and assured that he understood how difficult the situation was for civilians in Mariupol.
“But you and I must try as many times as necessary until we have a result”added Mrs. Verestschuk.
