War in Ukraine: Zelensky-Macron Debate on Russia’s Negotiations and “Wildness”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky tweeted that he had a conversation with his French counterpart Emanuel Macron, with whom they talked about Russian “atrocities”, as he described them in cities on the outskirts of Kiev.

“The Russian atrocities in the Kiev region must be investigated and Russia itself must be subject to new and severe sanctions. “I discussed all this with Emanuel Macron,” said initially Zelensky, who visited the cities of Stojanka, Irpin and Buka last Monday. In fact, the Ukrainian authorities say that in Borodyanka the situation may be even worse.

“We also discussed the negotiations, but also the humanitarian aid to the blocked Ukrainian cities,” he continued. Ukrainians say it is impossible to send humanitarian aid to the besieged Mariupol, while it is difficult to reach other areas in need of food, basic necessities and medicine. France, along with Greece and Turkey, had expressed their willingness to organize a humanitarian aid mission to Mariupol.
