The World Health Organization (WHERE) stated today that it is needed urgent access to Gaza to deliver aid and medical supplies, while the service of United States warned about humanitarian crisis in the Palestinian enclave.
Speaking at a press briefing, Dr. Richard Brennan, regional director for emergencies at the WHO’s eastern Mediterranean office, said the WHO was meeting today with officials responsible for “decision-making” to allow access to Gaza as soon as possible.
Dr. Richard Peppercorn, WHO Representative in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, said that 2,800 people have been killed and 11,000 injured in Gaza since the Israeli airstrikes began. About half of the victims are women and children.
