Wargaming announced the decision to leave Russia and Belarus, as well as the closure of the studio in Minsk

The developer of World of Tanks and other multiplayer games, Wargaming, has announced its decision to leave Russia and Belarus.

Over the past weeks, Wargaming has conducted a strategic review of business operations around the world. The company has decided that it will not own or operate a business in Russia and Belarus and will leave both countries. Since March 31, the company has transferred its gaming business in Russia and Belarus under the local management of Lesta Studio, which is no longer affiliated with Wargaming. The company will not profit from this process either today or in the future. On the contrary, we expect significant losses as a result of this decision.

We will complete the operational transition as quickly as necessary, while remaining fully compliant with all laws and ensuring the continued safety and support of our employees. During the transition period, our products will remain available in Russia and Belarus and will be managed by the new owner.

Wargaming has also begun the process of closing its studio in Minsk, Belarus. The company promised to provide the maximum possible severance pay and support to employees affected by the change.

Despite the magnitude of this decision, Wargaming “is confident in the future of our business and is committed to providing quality games to fans.”
