Today, April 22, Activision, in partnership with Treyarch and Raven Studios, officially unveiled the third season in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. As expected, the last part of the shooter and the royal battle were united at the moment – gamers were sent to the mid-80s of the last century. For the sake of this, the developers even came up with a good plot, led by the villain Seam – it was presented in the first season of Black Ops Cold War. This character wants to restart the Soviet super-soldiers program, and all events take place in Verdansk. This is how the developers argue for the reworking of the map and the change in the setting in Warzone.
However, it is still impossible to call the map a new one, since they did not completely recycle it. Instead, the developers have trivially reworked Verdance, updating many buildings, familiar locations and even the landscape, plus the season changed from winter to spring, making the environment, according to the authors of the project, brighter. However, in the original map there were not so many elements of winter, so this change is not so dramatic. The developers also reworked five existing locations, added seven new locations, but did not change the size of the map itself. Representatives of Activision said they did not intentionally change the map too much so that it would not seem unusual to fans.
Additionally, the “Gulag” has been completely redesigned, which is now a map for multiplayer mode, and in the first week of the third season, gamers will be offered several unique challenges, for which they will be able to receive special rewards – for example, Russell Adler’s skin. Information about new weapons, various innovations and a roadmap for the third season should appear in the very near future, but at the moment the game already has new skins and, of course, a battle pass.
