Was the mystery solved with the lost colony? The 180 missing and her mother Pocahonta

It may be just a little larger than a rice grain, but these rusty metal fragments may finally answer one of the oldest mysteries of American history: the fate of Renov’s “lost colony” in the late 16th century. These tiny remains, known as “Hammerscale”, are by -product of metal treatment. The archaeologists who pulled them out believe that they prove what happened to the 118 settlers of the first English settlement in North America, on the island of Ranok, today’s North Carolina. For 435 years, the fate of the settlers remained unknown. Their leader, John White, left them in 1587 to return to England for supplies. When he returned in 1590, the settlement had been abandoned, without traces of violence. The only element was the word “Croatoan” engraved in a wooden pole. The inscription suggested that the settlers probably moved to the island of Friendly Croatian Croatian, today’s Hatteras, 80 kilometers south. However, their fate was covered by myths and rumors.
