General Motors (GM) today announced that it will soon resume production at car assembly plants around the world. These factories have been shut down due to a global shortage of semiconductor products.
GM said four factories in the United States, Mexico and Canada will resume operations next week. Plants in Mexico will also start operating, producing Chevrolet Equinox, GMC Terrain and Chevrolet Blazer vehicles.
Simultaneously, the Bupyeong 1 car assembly plant in Korea will return to full operation. Since April 26, this enterprise has been operating at 50% capacity. Another Korean assembly plant will return to work in two shifts.
