A suitcase exploded at Guarulhos airport, in Greater São Paulo, this Monday morning (12), in the check-in area of Terminal 1.
Images taken by CNN (see below) show the moment when an artifact inside the luggage explodes, also damaging part of the ceiling and expelling a smoke screen.
According to the airport administrator, GRU Airport, the explosion was caused by an “intercurrence with spray” in the suitcase.
The company responsible for the airport also stated in a statement that “the security team was promptly called and there was no damage” and that the terminal remained operating normally.
