Wave of refugees from war in Ukraine opens new front for humanitarian drama

Amid negotiations between Russians and Ukrainians to create humanitarian corridors so that civilians can leave the region, the UN estimates that more than 1 million people have left Ukraine since the beginning of the invasion of the country by Russian forces.

The European Union estimates that the total number of forced displacements by the end of the conflict could reach up to 8 million. The problem is further compounded by reports of discrimination against groups that have been prevented from crossing the border due to skin color or origin.

In this episode of E Tem Mais, Carol Nogueira presents an assessment of the new flow of thousands of refugees triggered by the war in Ukraine.
