The photos that show the legend of Manchester United, Wayne Rooney, sleeping drunk in a chair in a hotel room, while three half-naked women posing for the camera, caused a stir. The veteran football player is even said to be a victim of blackmail, according to a Daily Mail article.
Rooney, 35, father of four and married to his childhood sweetheart Colin, told police he was blackmailed for leaking photos and making the rounds of the internet.
According to the report, Rooney’s representatives made an official complaint of blackmail to the Manchester police, when social media was flooded with images from his raging nights.
However, the fact that the police stated that they are not investigating the incident caused concern. “We do not know that this has been reported to the police. “There is no police intervention at the moment,” a spokeswoman told the British newspaper.
This is harassment & intrusion of privacy, imagine genders were switched & Wayne Rooney was a female & this was a man taking & sharing these pictures 🤐
This needs to be investigated by the police not only by Coleen Rooney 😤

However, Rooney’s spokesman said the matter had been delayed because it was unclear whether the case, which starred Rooney and the three girls at the hotel, was the responsibility of the police.
One of the photos that leaked and went viral on Sunday shows Rooney leaning towards a blonde woman at a nightclub in Manchester. However, there is no information that something was happening between them.
The women involved, however, reportedly said they were shocked that the former footballer had reported the images to police, according to the Daily Mail.
