“We are not sheep!” Protests against quarantine restrictions were held in the Czech Republic: video, photo report

Yesterday in the Czech capital, Prague, there were protests against quarantine measures imposed by the government. Under the slogan “let’s open the Czech Republic”, hundreds of people gathered in the city center for a peaceful protest against the coronavirus restrictions, writes Irozhlas.

The protesters came with posters “We are not sheep”, “Monday to school” and “Stop the tyranny of COVID-19.” Virtually all of the demonstrators wore no masks and refused to maintain social distance.

A little later, the second president of the Czech Republic, Vaclav Klaus, joined the protesters. He addressed the audience with criticism of the actions of the current government of the country. Klaus said that he opposes violent restrictions, and also does not approve of mandatory vaccinations, since “there is no miracle vaccine.”

The protesters called on the authorities to open the Czech Republic by January 23, as well as “live your life and wake up in a normal world in 14 days.” According to one of the demonstrators, “chaotic anti-epidemic measures do not work and will never work – on the contrary, it harms the republic, us, you, the entire people.”

The Czech government condemned the protests: Prime Minister Andrei Babish said that people who participated in the rally just need to become volunteers in the COVID departments of local hospitals. And Interior Minister Jan Hamacek noted that the demonstration would trigger another coronavirus outbreak and replenish already overcrowded hospitals.
