The director of the Independent Fiscal Institution (IFI) of the Federal Senate Vilma da Conceição warns of uncertainty regarding the conduct of fiscal policy in 2023.
“When we look at the issue of the budget law sent by the Executive branch at the end of August, we observe that, in the budget law, there is, for example, the extension of the current Auxílio Brasil program to 2023 with the additional R$ 200. But the intention to extend the benefit has appeared in the campaign proposals of the two candidates”, he said in an interview with CNN.
The extension of these fiscal incentives could impact public accounts by up to R$100 billion in the next year, according to her.
“The fiscal scenario, considering the current tax rules, which includes the ceiling, we are uncertain about how to accommodate these additional resources”.
