Sony is gearing up to launch a new line of Xperia smartphones, including the flagship Xperia 1 III. Today the company announced the date of the next big presentation dedicated to new Xperia products.
To the image inviting to the presentation, Sony adds comments in the style on social networks: “Very soon you will see something really new.”
The presentation will be held online, the broadcast can be viewed on the official Sony Xperia channel on Youtube, it will begin at 10:30 Moscow time on April 14, 2021.
At this presentation, the flagship smartphone Xperia 1 III is expected to debut, as well as the mid-range smartphone Xperia 10 III and possibly the compact Xperia Compact model.
More details about the Xperia 1 III have also surfaced today. According to the Chinese source ZACKBUKS, the flagship will be the owner of a camera with crazy characteristics. The camera will receive the following modules:
- 64MP wide-angle;
- 12MP ultra wide-angle;
- 12MP Periscope Cyber-shot with 60x zoom (probably hybrid).
According to the source, the periscope module is being developed by the Sony Cyber-shot division. However, if you do not assume that the 60x zoom is purely optical, then journalists and enthusiasts tend to believe that such a camera may turn out to be a reality.
Also listed is an OLED 4K HDR screen with a peak brightness of 1300 cd / m22, 120 Hz image refresh rate, Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, 5000 mAh battery with support for 65 W fast charging. A version with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash is expected for the international market, and for China – 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of flash memory. Estimated price – $ 1,369 or a little more than 100 thousand rubles. The start of sales, traditionally for Sony, is noticeably later than the announcement – only in June.
