“We made billions of dollars,” says Ludacris about continuing to film “Fast & Furious”

The film “Fast and Furious 10”, which was released on May 19, 2023 in Brazilian theaters, is not the last of the franchise, which is far from over.

This is what the artist Ludacris, interpreter of the character Tej Parker, reported in his recent interview with the podcast “All The Smoke”.

Asked why the franchise remains firm and strong, the actor comments.

“That is the dumbest question in the world. I’ll tell you why. Because it doesn’t matter what industry we’re in; podcasts, music, movies – it’s all about a bottom line, it’s all about how much you spend compared to how much you earn. We are making billions of dollars.”

“Bro, and I’m saying this like, I’m giving you my heart. I don’t want to brag or anything,” continued Ludacris. “So when you say – when some of you keep saying, ‘Why the hell do you keep shooting these movies?’ Let me tell you why. Because if you spend $200 million [R$ 1 bilhão] and earns $1 billion [R$ 5 bilhões].”

“Who the hell is going to tell you to stop filming when you make $800 million? [R$ 4 bi] . As? Even if you don’t like it, stop asking that damn question.”

Repercussion of “Fast and Furious 10”

The franchise began as a crime adventure starring Vin Diesel (Dominic Toretto) and Paul Walker (Brian O’Conner), and now it goes beyond, with breathtaking scenes and defying natural laws.
In an official statement, Universal Pictures announced that “Fast and Furious 10” surpassed four million viewers in Brazil.

Since its debut, R$88 million has already been raised. In addition, the film had already reached the highest pre-sales in the history of the studio in the country.
