Operating system: CentOS 7
Location: Amsterdam
Tariff: 6.6 rubles per day (approximately 200 rubles per month)
Automatic backup: can be disabled.
Now we need to create a VPN configuration.
Amnesia with OpenVPN
We go to the official Amnezia website and install the application on your PC.
In the control panel of the purchased server, go to the “Support” section and in the “Tickets” sub-item we find the data of your server.
Copy the login, password, IP address and paste them into the downloaded Amnezia application on your PC. Click Connect.
Next “Run Setup Wizard”
In the next window, you choose the aggressiveness of your VPN.
I recommend “Low censorship level” to bypass blocking, it is enough for now, and at the same time the connection speed does not suffer much, but if anything it can always be increased later in the settings.
Next, the automatic configuration of the server will begin. And after its completion, you can already start using VPN on your PC, it remains to connect the rest of the devices.
Now we need to share the key with other devices. Click on the gear at the top and go to settings.
Select Share Connections -> Share for OpenVPN -> Generate config and save the generated file.
Next, on any of your devices, open Open VPN and paste this file. And on the iPhone, save the configuration file to “Files” and open it in the OpenVPN application.
If Amnesia doesn’t work
At the moment, after the update, there was a bug in the application due to which an error pops up when setting up the server. But a fix has already been released to fix this bug. You can download it in the official Amnezia Telegram group.
