The Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, Herzi Halevi told Israeli Army commanders this Saturday (21) that the military will begin an operation to eliminate Hamas.
“We will enter the Gaza Strip. We will embark on an operational and professional task to destroy Hamas agents and infrastructure,” the chief said in comments to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Golani Brigade.
Halevi said that when the IDF enters the Gaza Strip, it will “keep in mind” the images that occurred on October 7 during a Hamas attack that killed at least 1,400 people in Israel.
He said the territory is complicated and crowded, but that the IDF is preparing.
“All IDF capabilities will be with you in this maneuver. Be brave, with that mindset, be very determined and give your soldiers confidence,” said Halevi.
