“We Will Not Be Silenced”: discover the Spanish series that leads Netflix’s Top 10

“We Will Not Be Silenced” premiered on Netflix on May 31st and took the lead as the most watched series on the streaming service in recent days. The Spanish production is based on the book of the same name by journalist Miguel Sáez Carral, released in 2021.

The eight-episode title centers on Alma, a 17-year-old girl, who faces several teenage dilemmas. While dealing with problems at school and at home, she goes through a traumatic night after abusing alcohol and discovers the secret of a childhood friend who makes her create a fake profile on the internet to tell the story.

In addition to the protagonist, the plot also follows Alma’s two best friends, Greta and Nata. The first is going through financial problems and the brother starts growing and selling marijuana. The second lives in a relationship that is disapproved by her friends and faces frustrations with this love and pressure from her conservative family.

The title brings together the protagonists of two successful streaming films: Nicole Wallace in “My fault” from Prime Video, and Clara Galle from the trilogy “Through My Window , from Netflix. Furthermore, Gabriel Guevara It is Ivan Messagué who also star in the Amazon novel, are in the cast of the series.
