THE Ukraine confirmed on Sunday (5/2) that it will not use long-range weapons promised by the USA to hit areas within Russian territory, while ito target only Russian military units inside Moscow-held Ukrainian territory.
The relevant statements were made by Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov.
The US confirmed on Friday (3/2) that a new missile which will double Ukraine’s missile strike range has been included in a $2.175 billion military aid package to help Kyiv push back Russian military forces.
“We always tell our allies formally that we will not use weapons given to us by foreign allies to hit areas inside Russian territory. We are only hitting Russian military units inside the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories,” Reznikov emphasized during a press conference, according to the Athens News Agency.
