Although the authors of the project told a lot of interesting things about the upcoming video game, gamers have only more questions. And to answer a small part of them, today, August 25, the company’s employees released a ten-minute video describing many game mechanics. For example, it became known that the gamer will be able to leave the ship to travel overland on his own two, but there will be no battles outside the ship – land exploration is of a completely different nature.
In the process of exploring the world on foot, the gamer will be able to spend his time searching for hidden treasures in locations that, to the great regret of the audience, are very similar to classic Ubisoft outposts. The information that Skull and Bones will not be a hardcore sailing simulator was also confirmed – there is nothing complicated in driving a vehicle, but the company’s employees have worked out quite realistic physics of wind and water, which you will have to pay attention to. They, according to the developers, really greatly affect the movement of the ship at sea.
In addition, the game will implement a fairly advanced weather system – there will be storms that are quite capable of flooding the player’s ship, and various other weather conditions. This is actually quite an important aspect in this particular game, since it is the weather conditions that will generate content on the gamer’s screen – in the process of traveling, even with various random events, without weather disasters, sailing into the distance will simply be boring. And the developers also talked about the technical component of the project, which, apparently, will allow a gamer with a productive computer to get a ton of pleasure.
Ubisoft said that Skull and Bones will feature unlimited frame rates, support for HDR and SDR technologies with flexible image calibration, plus support for multiple monitors and widescreen displays. Of course, ray tracing was also included, there will be many settings for various controllers and, most importantly, a built-in benchmark. This will allow you to customize the game for your PC and then test its performance directly from the settings menu.
