THE Duolingo announced Mascot Death de duo, the green owl, this Tuesday (11). In addition to a statement published on social networks ironicly, the company made a symbolic funeral to the application representative.
“With great regret, we communicate the death of the duo on February 11, 2025. After a long journey of learning and growth, the duo left us, leaving behind an indelible mark in the hearts of all who accompanied their trajectory,” he says the marketing action note.
Duolingo reported that “authorities are investigating the cause of death and we are cooperating entirely.” The app also suggested that the owl probably died “waiting for you to take a class.”
The statement went viral on social networks and netizens reacted to duo’s “death”, creating ironic memes and publications.
