An online learning platform created by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University is launching a series of courses.
The Web3 Foundation and the global online learning platform edX have announced basic blockchain courses on the Polkadot platform. The courses, called Web3x, will be divided into four parts, each of which will introduce students to the basics of the blockchain, as well as the study of the Substrate software development kit and the Rust programming language.
So far, edX has two courses “Introduction to Blockchain and Web3” and “Introduction to Polkadot” ready to go. The first one tells the history of the blockchain, revealing the features of such blockchains as Bitcoin and Ethereum. Students are also taught the basics of Web3 and the Internet technologies of the future. The second course covers the core concept of Polkadot: general security, interoperability, consensus, and networking. Both courses, like most of the software in edX, are free, points out Web3 Foundation CEO Bertrand Perez:
“A secondary objective of the courses is to establish partnerships with well-known teachers for further cooperation. We believe that edX has the right qualities to form a valuable long-term partnership with the Web3 Foundation.”
Earlier, we published a material in which we covered the speech of the founder of Bits.Media, Ivan Tikhonov, at the Blockchain Life forum. In it, he talked about the nuances of staking in the Polkadot network.
