Former Minister of Education Abraham Weintraub testified at the Federal Police (PF) headquarters in São Paulo. He was called to testify on the accusations he made against ministers of the Federal Supreme Court (STF).

official readjustment

The federal government made official the readjustment of 33.24% in teachers’ salaries. The salary floor for professionals in the public basic education network goes from R$2,886 to R$3,845.

Anvisa revokes authorization

Anvisa revoked the authorization of antibody cocktails against Covid-19, which had been approved by the agency for emergency use since May last year. The reason is the lack of data proving the efficacy against the Ômicron variant.

Pfizer’s Antiviral

Pfizer’s antiviral against Covid-19 has reached pharmacies in France, the first country in the European Union (EU) to make the drug available. “Paxlovid” can be prescribed by any doctor and, according to the drugmaker, can reduce the risk of hospitalization and death by up to 90%.

Deforestation grows

Deforestation in the Amazon has grown by 56.6% in the last three years, according to the Amazon Environmental Research Institute (IPAM). The research points out that 51% of registered deforestation between 2018 and 2021 took place on public lands, mainly in federal domain areas.
