He reveals the secrets of the perfect Blowout?
“The hair base must be healthy. It is always starting from feeding and moisturizing the hair, starting from a balanced pH shampoo, followed by a balm suitable for your type of hair. This is particularly important if the hair is treated or damaged. Only after these passages can we proceed with the styling and drying. I always use one of my serums: in particular, the number 3 is my secret elixir to bring my hair back to life. Regardless of my product, what matters is to apply a moisturizing and thermoprotector serum that seals the cuticles, even before turning on the hairdryer ».

How to identify a good thermoprotector serum, always in Blowout perspective?
«He absolutely must not weigh down the hair, otherwise you risk obtaining a flat effect. In the same way, it is important not to apply it directly on the roots, because it would lose that volume that makes every Blowout wonderful ».

Do Tools really count?
“Absolutely yes! It is worth investing in a professional hairdryer, always equipped with a spout, and in a brush of the right size. There is this idea that the brush should be giant, but in reality a brush is too large tends to make the lengths straight and flat. We need a round, but not excessive, to use section by section brush, raising the roots while drying each lock. It is essential to be precise (the springs are welcome to help!) And always start from the bottom up, without neglecting any part of the hair ».

What are the errors to avoid absolutely when making a Blowout?
«Forget to work the roots with brush and hairdryer: they are the foundations of the Blowout, we always start from there. And they must be dried perfectly. Never dry without spout: it is equivalent to lifting the hair and shooting in every direction. And then you have to keep a continuous brushing during drying: avoid the frizz and favors the closure of the cuticles ».

He appointed his serum number 3: does he never do without it?
“Never! It has the ability to transform even the most arid hair into pure silk. Just activate it with heat. And it doesn’t weigh your hair at all ».

Among the many celebrities he worked with, is there a particularly successful hair look that he remembers with pleasure?
«Yes, during an Oscar evening a few years ago. Heidi Klum wanted a hairstyle to Bouffant, but with the chosen dress he did not work. I obviously tried to satisfy her, making her understand that we could not overdo it with the volume, under penalty of a helmet effect. In the end I created an hairstyle that she liked it very much: fringe at the height of the cheeks, semi -collected hair on the nape in a soft and casual way (I did everything with my fingers!). The mood was a bit to Brigitte Bardot, but in a modern key. It was wonderful ».

How is it working with the big stars?
«The truth is that they simply want to appear in their best version. If you are able to give them a super luxurious, but at the same time soft and natural Blowout, they will always be happy. The speech for photographic sets is different: there you must let yourself be inspired, often by the protagonist clothes. I have always reached my first instinct, to the feeling of belly: when I feel that spark, I create the hairstyle. Then the make-up artist follows inspiration and makes the look even more incisive ».

Where do you draw inspiration for his haurolooks?
«It can come from anything: the movement of the sleeve of a Balenciaga dress, the pattern of a wall, a natural detail. I love women’s hair in the paintings of Modigliani, they inspire me very much. And when I travel, I look at the streetstyle a lot: in Tokyo I see avant -garde hairstyles, in London’s suburbs I found retro hair look revisited in a brilliant way. The hair of the Italians? Quintessence of luxury and care. The Parisians are also refined, but more discreet: their style is classic, less is more. In Australia, however, the hair look is conditioned by sun and wind. Beach waves are a necessity ».

Can you tell us something about your Haarer brand?
«My soul and my heart are enclosed in those formulas! I must confess that I didn’t have in mind to create my own brand, but I made the first serum (the famous number 3) because during the shooting I needed to immediately improve the quality of the models’ hair. His great advantage? It leaves no memory on the hair: it allows you to model it and remodel it several times, ideal when you have to do three or four different looks on the same day. At the beginning I was preparing it at home and took it everywhere. Then I realized that I could really create a professional line capable of transforming straw into silk. After serum number 3, I built the entire Iles Formula range. Another product that I am proud of is the conditioner: a real Miracle Worker, capable of instantly improving the hair texture ».
