West Bank: New Palestinian clashes in Jenin with one dead and one seriously injured

A young man was killed and a teenager seriously injured in the head during fresh clashes in the northern occupied West Bank between Palestinian Authority security forces and activists, the Palestinian Authority said on Monday. A spokesman for the Palestinian Authority’s security services, Anwar Rajab, said in a statement that a 19-year-old man succumbed to his injuries during a “violent attack carried out by an outlaw group traveling on motorcycles” in Jenin, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank. A 16-year-old boy was seriously injured in the same incident, according to the spokesman. The Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas, a rival of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah party, claimed that the young man and the teenager were hit by fire from security forces.
