West Bank woman stabbed to death by Israeli border guard

Israeli border guard shot and killed a woman armed with a knife as she approached Israeli forces stationed at a crossing point in West Bank, Palestinian territory occupied by Israel.

The border guard at the Kalandiya crossing point, between Jerusalem and the West Bank, repeatedly called on the 28-year-old woman to stop, and when the woman continued to move forward, the border guard opened fire, Israeli police added, without giving further details.

On Friday, a Palestinian teenager was shot dead by Israeli soldiers during riots on the sidelines of a protest against settlements near Nablus in the North West Bank.

And on Thursday, three Palestinians were killed in the West Bank during an exchange of fire with Israeli forces conducting an operation to capture wanted Palestinians in the northwestern city of Jenin.

Riots have escalated in recent weeks in the West Bank, amid protests in Jerusalem and the May 11-day war between the armed Palestinian movement Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, a Palestinian-Israeli-Israeli territory. Israeli army.

Nearly 475,000 Israeli settlers live in the West Bank, home to more than 2.8 million Palestinians.
