A Russian brigade commander in Ukraine has been killed by his own soldiers, a Western official has said.
This is Colonel Medvechek, commander of the 37th Motorized Rifle Brigade, who is believed to have been deliberately killed.
The official said that “the brigade commander was killed by his own troops, we believe, as a consequence of the scale of losses suffered by his brigade.”
