Wyatt Yager, 19, told WCVB that he and his brother Colin, 16, were fishing about a mile off the coast of New Hampshire. Colin spotted the whale and began recording.
“I saw her come up and I thought, ‘Oh, she’s going to hit the boat,’ and then it kind of started to tip over,” Wyatt said.
The images captured the whale jumping and hitting the vessel. According to the affiliated network of CNN, The Yager brothers said they helped pull the two people from the water and that they did not appear to be seriously injured.
WCVB further reported that the U.S. Coast Guard confirmed it received a distress call after the whale capsized the boat.
The Coast Guard also confirmed that the victims were rescued by other people and taken to the Great Bay Marina.
