Since 2007 an average teenager living in the area has lived at least five long-range Israeli attacks.
The 2008, at the age of one year, a child would live through 22 days of devastating air and ground attacks. Nearly 1,400 Palestinians, including 320 children, were killed during the Israeli military’s Operation Compact Pencil.
By the age of five, the 2012would survive an eight-day Israeli attack that killed more than 80 people, including 30 children.
The 2014at the age of seven, the child would experience a 50-day Israeli assault that killed at least 2,310 Palestinians, including 551 children.
At the age of 14, the 2021the teenager would witness an Israeli assault that lasted 11 days and killed 260 Palestinians, including 67 children.
Today, at the age of 16, he is living through Israel’s war raging in the Gaza Strip following the Hamas attack on Israel. It has killed at least 16,015 Palestinians, with about 70% of the dead in Gaza being women and children, according to Palestinian enclave authorities.
