Laptops with GeForce RTX 3060 are on sale today, and we’ve already learned that their prices can delight potential buyers.

Now it’s time to figure out what such a video card is capable of. Recall that it has more CUDA cores than the desktop version, but lower frequencies, less TDP and less memory. In addition, the mobile adapter can have different TDPs, which greatly affects performance.
Fortunately, TechSpot specialists got hold of two laptops with a new 3D-card at once, differing precisely in TDP. Unfortunately, the novelty cannot yet be compared with its desktop sister, but there are many other mobile accelerators on the diagrams.

As you can see, the RTX 3060 is on average 20-22% faster than its predecessor in Full HD resolution when compared to cards with a similar TDP. Also, the new product with a TDP of 80-95W is roughly comparable to the RTX 2070 Super Max-Q with a TDP of 90W.
As for the difference between the two RTX 3060 modifications, it is about 11%, but in some games it can exceed 20%. And if you consider that such an adapter can be with even less power consumption, then it is easy to imagine a huge gap between the youngest and the oldest versions.
It is also interesting to see how the new product smashes the mobile GTX 1060, ahead of the latter by an average of 72%, and sometimes the advantage is more than two times.
In absolute terms, in Full HD, the novelty often produces more than 60-70 fps in modern games, and sometimes far beyond 100 fps. Even Cyberpunk 2077 is doing quite well at maximum settings.
